HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE ESRA DIPLOMA


THE OXFORD ESRA DIPLOMA COURSE

Course Organiser: Dr Mark Crowley MBBS, BSc, FRCA, DESRA

This course is specifically aimed at helping anaesthetists prepare for the ESRA (European Society of Regional Anaesthesia) diploma examinations.

This is a one day intensive course for those sitting the ESRA diploma and is suitable for both part 1 (MCQ) and part 2 (Viva) candidates. It has been developed by NHS Consultant Regional Anaesthetists who are ESRA members and who have successfully passed both components of this examination.

Sit mock ESRA regional anaesthesia MCQ exams (containing some examples of past questions) and receive tuition and lectures covering topics relevant to the exam.
For those sitting part 2 of the Diploma come and have plenty of Mock Viva practice including ultrasound and live model practice suitable for part 2 of the ESRA diploma examination. This session will run in parallel to the MCQ session.

Numbers are limited.

09:20-10:00 Equipment: Peripheral nerve stimulation, ultrasound, catheters and local anaesthetic agents

10:00-10:45 Live Block session: Watch several popular blocks performed live from theatres via a 2 way AV conference

10:45-11:00 Coffee Break

11:00-11:45 Upper limb blocks

11:45-12:30 Lower limb blocks

12:30-13:15 Neuro-axial blocks

13:15-14:00 Lunch

Part 1 MCQ Exam Candidates:

14:00- 15:30 Mock ESRA Diploma MCQ Examination

15:30-15:45 Coffee Break

15:45-17:00 MCQ Results and feedback

Part 2 Viva Exam Candidates:

14:00-15:30 Upper limb regional anaesthesia Viva’s

15:30-15:45 Coffee Break

15:45-17:00 Lower limb regional anaesthesia Viva’s

Certificates of attendance will be issued on the day along with a receipt of payment for study leave application.
